Day Two: Write a story using only dialogue

“Good evening and welcome to the six o'clock news with your host, Spirita Balderich”

“Good evening. Our top story tonight: A standoff between armed robbers and the police in sSundara Bank. These images may contain tense and distressing scenes. We have Betty Queensburry, reporting live from the incident. Betty.”

“Yes, thank you Spirita. I am standing live at Kuster street, almost directly opposite the back entrance of Sundara Bank, where two heavily armed assailants are inside and they are refusing to come out or cooperate with police. The front entrance of the bank has been closed to the press and public. Armed police are currently surrounding the building and negotiation attempts are being made, but so far, there has been no progress. There are reports that the criminals have in their possession military grade weapons: assault rifles, grenades and a machine gun. It is also reported that they have stolen 1.5 million pounds in cash and it is unclear whether any gold has been stolen from the bank vaults. There are thought to be at least 10 hostages inside the bank at this time and no casualties. We will update you with any developments that are made as soon as possible, goodbye.”

“Thank you, Betty. Our second story of the night: record winds and rain in the north of Scotland have devastated- sorry, w-we are getting reports of gunfire being exchanged at Sundara Bank. Betty, what can you tell us?”

“Yes, Spirita, gunfire is now being exchanged by both parties. This comes as a result of an explosion at the backdoor of the bank. This is thought to be an attempt to escape from the armed robbers. There are still civilians inside the bank. The gunfire is being exchanged at the back of the bank, it sounds like rifle fire. There are shouts coming from the police and the assailants. The reports are that the criminals are two, white males, one is significantly older than the other. They appear to be shooting from a van parked directly in front of the bank’s exit. It is unsure who this vehicle belongs to. You can also probably hear, the, explosions behind us. Those are grenades being thrown by the assailants.”

And it sounds like one of the assailants has been shot. Whether that is injured or killed we are unclear. The other assailant seems to have temporarily stopped gunfire, you can see just there, the hit man’s leg is sticking out from behind the van. The other assailant is still, shooting albeit now, doing so halfheartedly. He is not giving up, he seems to be entering the van, he has a massive sack in his hand, and the police are still shooting at him. The van appears to be reinforced with some kind of bulletproof material.

The assailant has left his partner, who appears to be dead as he is not moving and is now speeding down the road. The police are chasing after him, attempting to stop him and still shooting. They are checking that the building has had any bomb traps put in any of the doors, and ensuring it is safe for the people inside to come out. No police officers have been killed, a few have been injured. It seems that now the chase is on. The vehicle is a white, mercedes-benz van. The licence plate read FG55 JXC. Please do not approach this van. It is considered highly dangerous. ”

“Good evening and welcome to the six o'clock news with your host, Spirita Balderich”

“Good evening. Our top story tonight: two weeks after the armed robber at Sundara Bank. One of the suspects is still at large. Mike Warlown, 27, is wanted by police on accounts of armed robbery, possession of an illegal firearm, possession of illegal explosives, assault with a deadly weapon, breaking and entering, and various other charges. The armed robber stole 1.2 million pounds in cash and drove off in a white mercedes-benz van with the help of his uncle, John Samsein who was killed at the scene. Police pursued Mike Warlown before they lost sight of him after he seemingly drove off the side of the M42 motorway. The vehicle was found three days later, completely abandoned in a field near Kidderminster. Airports and train lines are on high alert, Anyone with any information is encouraged to call 0000 1515. The reward for Mike Warlwon’s capture is £500,000.”

This one is especially bad. Goodnes Gracious.
